Fire and Emergency New Zealand offer free Home Fire Safety Visits to people, family and whānau who require fire safety advice. Recently one of our staff received a Home Fire Safety visit from the Fire Service and was suitably impressed with the efficiency and with the information provided.
A Home Fire Safety Visit is a free service for anyone who would like fire safety advice to reduce the risk of fires in their own home.
During the visit they will not only help install smoke alarms but also replace faulty ones. If you cannot afford to purchase the smoke alarms, they are ready and able to discuss how they can help.
They did that with our staffer and then engaged in a helpful discussion about the potential fire risks in her home developing an escape plan in case of fire or another emergency.
The visit takes about 30 mins.
