Become an Ambassador

We’re looking for people who care about the well-being of the region’s older people to join our Ambassador groups. If you are keen to have a say in how our services are developed and are happy to support our work in your area then please consider becoming an Ambassador. No particular skills are required just a passion for what we do.

What do I have to do?

As an Ambassador you’ll be an important link with your community. You’ll be in touch with what’s happening locally and be able to:

  • tell us what older people in your community need.
  • give feedback on potential services, events and activities.
  • help promote what we’re doing in your community, for example, by putting posters on community noticeboards and telling your friends.

What’s my commitment?

We ask our Ambassadors to come to quarterly meetings to discuss what’s happening in their community and how we can help seniors there. We may occasionally ask you to attend other meetings if we’d like your input on a particular topic. Meetings will be held in Lower Hutt and at our office in Wakefield Street in Wellington. If you’re unable to come to a meeting, that’s fine, just let us know.

I’m interested, what next?

If you’re interested in becoming an Ambassador then contact us with your name, phone number, the community you’d like to represent and a few words about your involvement with us to date. Or call us on 04 499 6646. We look forward to hearing from you.
